Javier E. Montalvo is vice president of Human Resources at Southern Company Gas. In this role, he is responsible for leading the company’s talent management, diversity and inclusion, labor relations, workforce compliance and HR delivery teams. Montalvo also is a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council. Southern Company Gas is a subsidiary of Southern Company.

Since he began his career in 1986, Montalvo has served in a variety of HR leadership positions at multiple companies, including Georgia Power, where he served as an HR business partner from 2013-2015. For the past 10 years he has held various leadership positions with global organizations in strategic executive HR roles.

Montalvo is active in the industry and the community. As of January 2024, Montalvo serves on the Board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Southeast. He is also a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management and has supported and served on boards that include the Walton County United Way Board and the Northeast Georgia Workforce Development Board.

Montalvo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Lehman College – The City University of New York and completed his HR Professional Development Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
