Sandra N. Bane was named Audit Partner of KPMG, LLP in 1985 where she served until her retirement in 1998. She was responsible for heading the Western Regions Merchandising practice and establishing the Employee Benefits audit specialist program in Southern California.

Bane also served as partner-in-charge of the Western Regions Human Resource department for two years and as an accountant with increasing responsibilities during her 23-year tenure with the company.

Bane serves on the board of directors of Transamerica Asset Management Group, a mutual fund company. She also served on the board of directors of Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation from 2002-2021 and of PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. from 2004-2006. In addition, Bane served on the board of several nonprofit institutions in her community.

Bane has served on the board of directors of Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources) since 2008.
